# How to Get Phione: Starmie Doll and the Underwater Dream Island

> How to find the Starmie Doll in Bubbly Basin, reach the underwater Dream Island, check if Phione is there, locate its brick room and invite it home.

Phione is one of the rarest Pokémon of the Bubbly Basin expansion. It never appears in a regular habitat: you can only meet it on the **underwater Dream Island** reached with the **Starmie Doll**, and even then it is only there some of the time. This guide covers the whole route, from finding the doll to convincing Phione to move to your island.

        ## Requirements

            - The **Expansion Pass** with access to Bubbly Basin, and the Dive move from the free 2.0.0 update.

            - Bubbly Basin at **Environment Level 3**, to unlock Frillish and the cave where the doll is hidden.

            - Rock Smash, and ideally the Dowsing Machine plus a Pokémon with the Search specialty.

        ## Step 1: find the Starmie Doll

            - Raise Bubbly Basin to Environment Level 3 and report back to **Popplio**.

            - When Popplio offers hints about the next Pokémon, choose the one about “the floaty pink one”. This sends you to **Frillish**, in a cave in the north-western corner of Bubbly Basin.

            - Inside the cave, follow the stretch with **minecart tracks**. Almost all the rocks there are indestructible, but one pile can be broken.

            - Smash that pile with Rock Smash to dig up the Starmie Doll. The doll is invisible until you dig, so the Dowsing Machine and a Search Pokémon make the spot much easier to find.

        ## Step 2: travel to the Dream Island

        Place the Starmie Doll anywhere and interact with it. **Drifloon** appears and carries you to the underwater Dream Island. Remember that you can only visit **one Dream Island per day**.

        ## Step 3: check whether Phione is there

        As soon as you land, open the Pokédex. If the list only shows you and Drifloon, Phione is not on this island: collect the materials (sea grapes, small coral and grubby pearls) and try again tomorrow. If you see an entry with a **question mark**, Phione is somewhere on the island.

        ## Step 4: find the brick room

            - Phione waits inside a walled room built from **dark grey and tan bricks with dark pink accents**.

            - The room changes position on every island, but it always looks the same. It is usually deep inside an underwater cave.

            - If rocks block the entrance, clear them with Rock Smash.

        ## Step 5: invite Phione home

        Entering the room triggers a short scene. Phione explains that it is looking for a new home: accept and it is registered in your Pokédex and moves to your island. Like Manaphy, it has no regular habitat, so give it a comfortable house. Its specialty is **Trade**.

        > **Tip:** the underwater Dream Island is also the best source of grubby pearls, which Scrub Pokémon turn into Shiny pearls. Even on days without Phione, the trip is worth it.
