Glide lets you cross gaps without building a bridge for every trip. It is particularly useful in Sparkling Skylands, but you must begin above your destination: gliding does not let you gain height.

## Learning from Dragonite

- Follow the early requests in Sparkling Skylands until you receive the instructions for meeting Dragonite.

- Build the waterside habitat with the small boat indicated by the request. Check that the game recognises the completed habitat.

- Meet Dragonite and speak to it to learn Glide. Do not leave after the arrival animation without finishing the conversation.

## Taking off and choosing a landing place

Jump or step off an elevated edge, then press R while airborne to transform. Steer left or right towards an open landing place. Keep your destination in view and avoid aiming at a cliff face with no space to stand.

The transformation slows your descent rather than providing upward flight. If the destination is higher than your starting point, first climb to a higher launch point or choose an intermediate island. Trying the same jump repeatedly from below will not solve the height difference.

## Energy and route planning

Set off with energy and food available for later. Running out of PP during an existing glide does not immediately cancel the transformation, but once you end it you need energy to start again. After learning Waterfall, climbing a waterfall can provide a useful launch point for the next glide.
