Wastepaper is an ingredient, not finished paper. A Pokémon with the recycling specialty processes it into usable sheets. The same specialty can also turn nonburnable rubbish into iron ore, so choose the input according to the resource you need.

        ## Make usable paper

            - Collect wastepaper from debris in Sparkling Skylands or from the matching sky Dream Island.

            - Find a recycling specialist such as Trubbish or Metang. Speak to it and show the wastepaper.

            - Choose the option to process it into paper, then select the quantity. Complete the processing dialogue rather than simply giving the material as a present.

            - Leave the Pokémon time to work and return to collect the result. One wastepaper produces two sheets of paper.

        ## Get iron ore from nonburnable rubbish

Show the recycling specialist nonburnable rubbish instead and choose the processing option. The result is iron ore, not an iron ingot. If your recipe needs ingots, take the ore to a furnace and have a suitable burning specialist smelt it afterwards.

        ## If you receive the wrong resource

Check which material you handed over. Wastepaper and nonburnable rubbish are separate inputs with different outputs. If the Pokémon took an item but did not begin work, check whether you used an ordinary gift option instead of the processing request. Keep the recycling work area clear and collect finished batches before starting another job.
