You can obtain Rare Pokémetal without finding another ore deposit. The route uses Stardust, a crafted Star Piece and the special processing service offered by Porygon-Z.

        ## Prepare the material

            - Collect Stardust during Dream Island visits. Check the ground, shorelines and caves instead of concentrating only on ore blocks.

            - Picking up the material unlocks the recipe for Star Piece. At a workbench, combine 99 units of dust to make one piece.

            - Keep the finished piece in your bag when going to Porygon-Z. The Pokémon processes the crafted item, not loose dust.

        ## Meet Porygon-Z

Build Game Corner battle zone with two powered arcade machines and two seats. Check that both machines actually work and that the habitat is recognised. Porygon-Z is a rare visitor, so a completed habitat does not guarantee an immediate appearance.

        ## Start and collect the processing job

Speak to Porygon-Z and choose its special option for rare materials. Hand over one Star Piece through that processing conversation. Return after it finishes to collect one Rare Pokémetal. The conversion takes time; it is not an instant workbench recipe.

If the option is missing, check that you are speaking to Porygon-Z rather than another member of its family, and that you have crafted the correct item. Keep track of pieces committed to this job instead of assuming that every piece in storage is already available as metal.
