How to get a waterwheel turning and generating power

Restore the upstream flow, align the water with the wheel and check the electrical connection separately.

How to get a waterwheel turning and generating power walkthrough

A waterwheel needs flowing water to turn. Being near a pond or placing water beside its base is not always sufficient. Treat the moving water and the electrical connection as two separate checks.

How to get a waterwheel turning and generating power

Restore the water supply

  1. Inspect the land above and beside the wheel. Follow the intended channel upstream and look for a rock or block stopping the flow.
  2. Remove the obstruction and watch where the released water travels. It must reach the wheel rather than escape through a lower opening.
  3. If there is no usable source, create one with the liquid-carrying ability. Place it upstream and above the wheel, then shape a channel that directs the falling water onto it.
  4. Wait for the flow to settle and check that the wheel actually rotates before working on the power network.

Finish the story task with Piplup

During the relevant Bleak Beach request, bring Piplup to the indicated wheel as instructed. Restore the water and finish its conversation; fixing another wheel elsewhere does not necessarily complete that specific request.

The wheel turns but the machine stays off

Once the wheel rotates, check the transmitter or power pole linking it to the machine. A working water supply does not automatically connect every nearby object. Test with one electrical device and a nearby transmitter before extending the circuit.

For a new installation, complete the waterwheel kit's construction before testing the flow. If you later move or demolish a kit-built wheel, use the matching construction kit at its valid interaction position. Digging out the surrounding terrain is not a replacement for the building controls.
