Tinkagears are processed by Tinkmaster, the story Tinkaton in Sparkling Skylands. They are not ordinary workbench crafts. Reaching a recipe that needs gears does not unlock their production on its own: first advance the local story until Tinkmaster demonstrates the process.

Reach the first gear-making request
- Follow the Sparkling Skylands story to Tinkmaster's tower. Complete the request for six pieces of concrete, then return to the character rather than searching for a gear recipe in the PC shop.
- Bring an Iron ingot for the next request. Tinkmaster turns it into gears and introduces the lift-platform construction sequence.
- After unlocking this interaction, show Tinkmaster more Iron ingots and choose the processing dialogue. Wait for completion and collect the results before starting another batch.
Prepare ingots rather than raw ore
One Iron ingot produces three Tinkagears. Smelt iron beforehand and reserve enough ingots for the other ingredients in your construction recipe. A project needing two gears can still leave you short of its separate iron requirement if you process your entire supply.
If production is unavailable
Check the material selected and the story request still in progress. Iron ore and Iron ingots are different items, and an ordinary gift does not order processing. Return after the introductory requests, finish the result dialogue and keep a small gear reserve for later lift, elevator and furnace projects.
