Tinkmaster and Smearguru can accompany Ditto underwater after the version-2.0 update and their relevant conversations. This lets you use Tinkmaster's construction help and Smearguru's painting in submerged projects. Ditto must already know Dive; owning the Expansion Pass is only necessary for entering Bubbly Basin itself.

        ## Speak to each helper before diving

            - Update the game and learn Dive from Manaphy. Visit Tinkmaster and Smearguru separately and check their request bubbles, including Smearguru's wish for underwater inspiration.

            - Complete the dialogue in which Ditto makes underwater travel possible with a bubble. Invite the character to follow you afterward; unlocking one helper does not automatically complete the other's conversation.

            - Enter the water and check that the helper follows below the surface. Bring Tinkmaster to a compatible construction kit or Smearguru to a paintable underwater building, with the materials or paint the job requires.

        ## If the conversation does not appear

Check unfinished character requests first. If Tinkmaster has moved, return together to Sparkling Skylands and check the Center-tour and home requests. Likewise, revisit Smearguru's earlier requests in Bleak Beach. These checks help distinguish an outstanding errand from an underwater movement problem.

        ## Set up a local home for repeated work

For long underwater projects, assign a suitable home nearby instead of fetching the same helper for every job. Being able to follow you underwater does not automatically assign a residence. Choose other builders that can enter water too; this dialogue does not grant diving to every Pokémon.
