How to grow crops underwater with bubbles

Prepare a submerged field and supply bubbles with a watering helper or a powered bubble machine.

How to grow crops underwater with bubbles walkthrough

Submerged crops do not follow exactly the same routine as a field on land. Most need bubbles before they grow, even though they are already surrounded by water.

How to grow crops underwater with bubbles

Prepare and activate the field

  1. Use the tilling ability on suitable underwater ground, then plant the seeds you want to grow.
  2. Bring a Pokémon with the watering specialty so it can give the planted crops bubbles.
  3. Wait for growth and harvest the mature crops. A growing specialist can speed up the process, but does not replace the initial bubbles.

Use a bubble machine for repeated harvests

A powered bubble machine supplies bubbles over a three-by-three area. Keep the crop plots inside its range and connect it to electricity. A suitable generating Pokémon can also supply power nearby. Check that bubbles actually appear before expanding the field.

If the plants will not grow

Check the ground, seeds and bubbles first, then the machine's power and coverage. Simply leaving seeds underwater is not enough for most crops. Sea grapes are an exception and can grow without bubbles. Once the field works, keep watering and growing helpers nearby and collect the harvest before planting the next batch.
