# How to Unlock Dive and Enter Bubbly Basin in Pokemon Pokopia

**Dive** is one of the main additions in version 2.0.0 of **Pokemon Pokopia de
                Switch 2**. The ability lets you swim below the surface and explore the seabed. Learning it
            is free, although entering the underwater town of **Bubbly Basin** requires the Expansion
            Pass.

        ## Requirements for unlocking Dive

        Before heading to Manaphy, make sure the game is updated to **version 2.0.0**. You must also
            know **Jump** and **Surf**, and finish the **Raise the Environment
                Level!** request in **Bleak Beach** by reaching Environment Level 5.

            You do not need the Expansion Pass to learn or use Dive. The paid pass is only required when you
                try to enter Bubbly Basin.

        ## Where to find Manaphy and learn Dive

            - Go to the **Bleak Beach Pokémon Center** and speak with **Professor
                    Tangrowth** outside the building.

            - Use Surf to reach the mysterious island directly **north** of the coast.

            - Talk to **Manaphy** and bring it **five bunches of Seaweed**.

            - After the delivery, Manaphy teaches you **Dive** and sends you into the nearby cave.

            - Take the decorative **Poké Ball** from the pedestal, then return to Manaphy to finish
                the short tutorial.

        The whole sequence takes about five minutes once the requirements are complete. From then on, Dive can
            be used freely whenever you enter deep enough water.

        ## Dive controls

        Walk into the water to activate the swimming state automatically. These are the controls used below the
            surface:

                        Control

                    **Hold B**Swim underwater

                    **L**Descend

                    **R**Ascend

                    **ZL**Stay still and float

                    **Rotate the left stick quickly**Drop rapidly to the seabed

        ## How to enter the Bubbly Basin DLC

        Once Dive is unlocked, return to the Pokémon Center in Bleak Beach. If the **Pokemon Pokopia
                Expansion Pass** is active, **Popplio** will be waiting there. Speak with
            Popplio to learn about Bubbly Basin and register it in your new Bubbly Basin Pokédex.

            - Make sure **Popplio is following you** after the conversation.

            - Enter the water and use Dive.

            - Swim **west** until you reach the Bubbly Basin gate.

            - Interact with the gate to enter the underwater town and begin the DLC story.

        ## If the event does not start

        Check the three progression gates in order: version 2.0.0 must be installed, Bleak Beach must be at
            Environment Level 5, and Manaphy's Dive tutorial must be complete. If Dive works but Popplio is not at
            the Pokémon Center, confirm that the Expansion Pass is installed for the active profile. Manaphy also
            cannot join your team until you own and advance through the Expansion Pass.
