A roof is not required for a basic block house to register. Add one when the design needs shade or shelter, then test what it covers before putting delicate decorations or plants underneath. A roof that looks closed from the street may still have gaps seen from above.

Build from the edges inward
- Prepare temporary access or use Magnet Rise if already unlocked. Set the wall height first, then place the eaves and corners so the roof's footprint is clear.
- Use the placement preview and ZL strafe controls to align adjoining pieces. Dedicated roof items can be rotated and arranged differently from ordinary solid blocks, so check each join instead of assuming every shape fills a cube.
- Cover the central area, inspect it from above and remove the temporary access only after you can reach every remaining gap.
Check the result in the conditions that matter
For shade, inspect the interior and avoid filling it with bright lamps if its resident prefers darkness. For rain cover or water containment, test the chosen materials and all joints before relying on the roof: decorative glazing and a roof-shaped silhouette are not sufficient evidence of a seal. Correct a small test section before rebuilding a whole street.
Recover misplaced pieces carefully
Many roof furnishings can be put away intact, while ordinary blocks are removed with your block-editing tools. Use the appropriate interaction for the selected object. Keep the entrance clear and preserve the room's walls and door, since a decorative roof does not repair a broken house enclosure.
