How to learn Strength and move heavy objects

Complete Machoke's training to push, pull and rotate heavy objects without dismantling them.

How to learn Strength and move heavy objects walkthrough

Strength lets you reposition heavy objects without picking them up or destroying them. It helps clear paths and align equipment during the story in Rocky Ridges.

How to learn Strength and move heavy objects

Learning from Machoke

  1. Follow the early requests in Rocky Ridges until you are asked to meet Machoke. Build its habitat using the instructions you receive.
  2. Speak to Machoke and follow it to the training site. Collect the stones it requests and watch its demonstration.
  3. Use the new move to push the indicated object towards Machoke. Finish the request dialogue before returning to the PC task.

Pushing, pulling and rotating

Stand in front of a movable object and hold A to grab it. Walk while holding the button to push or pull the object; release A to let go. Follow the on-screen rotation prompt to change its orientation while holding it.

Practise in an open space before positioning storage boxes or workbenches against walls. If movement is blocked, check the floor and the space the whole object needs, rather than just the gap Ditto fits through.

Understanding the limits

Strength moves objects horizontally. It cannot lift them onto platforms or lower them between floors, and no meal specifically upgrades this move. For a destination at another height, prepare a suitable position first or return with building tools unlocked later.
