Pokémon followers bring their specialties to your work site. Before building, cooking or exploring, choose the helpers you need and make sure they can follow your route.

Inviting and dismissing followers
- Face a Pokémon and press Up on the D-pad. You can also speak to it and choose the option to travel together.
- Up to five Pokémon can follow you at once. If your group is full, dismiss one before inviting another.
- If a Pokémon refuses because it is hungry, give it food and ask again.
- Speak to one follower to dismiss it individually. To dismiss the whole group, hold Up on the D-pad while the Pokémon are nearby.
Keeping the route accessible
Pokémon move at different speeds. Large followers can get stuck in gaps that Ditto can fit through, and walking Pokémon may stop at gaps in the ground. Widen entrances, clear obstacles and build continuous paths before taking helpers to a construction site.
If a follower stops coming with you, retrace your route: it may be waiting at the obstacle it could not pass. Small flying Pokémon such as Hoothoot are convenient on uneven terrain, provided they have the specialty you need.
Working and travelling together
Bring the helper close to the relevant object or machine and use the appropriate interaction. A follower does not remove requirements for materials, fuel or equipment. Helpers can travel to other regions with you, but an unfinished request may prevent one from leaving. Complete that request and invite it again.
