How to Rebuild Every Pokémon Center: Materials and Pokémon Needed

Step-by-step rebuild process, the materials and specialties for all five Pokémon Centers, how to prepare them and what a rebuilt center unlocks.

How to Rebuild Every Pokémon Center: Materials and Pokémon Needed walkthrough

Every area you reach in Pokémon Pokopia has a ruined Pokémon Center, and Professor Tangrowth asks you to rebuild it. These rebuilds are Important Requests: the four centers of the main story are required to see the ending, and the one in Bubbly Basin is the big goal of the Expansion Pass. The process is always the same, only the shopping list changes.

The rebuild process step by step

  1. Reach Environment Level 3 in the area. That is what makes the Pokémon Center kit appear in the PC shop.
  2. Buy the kit at the PC (it costs 1,000 Life Coins) and place it on the ruins. A construction box appears in front of the building.
  3. Deposit the materials listed below into the box. You can hand them over in several trips.
  4. Assign the builders: each center needs eight Pokémon, and some of them must have specific specialties.
  5. Wait until the next day. The work finishes after the 5:00 AM reset, so go to bed or do something else in the meantime.

Materials for every Pokémon Center

AreaMaterialsKey specialties
Withered Wastelands10 Lumber, 20 Stone, 10 Leaf, 10 Vine ropeBuild, Bulldoze, Chop
Bleak Beach10 Twine, 30 Brick, 10 Sea glass fragments, 5 Iron oreBuild, Bulldoze, Water
Rocky Ridges25 Stone, 25 Iron ingot, 25 Copper ingot, 5 Crystal fragmentBuild, Bulldoze
Sparkling Skylands25 Pokémetal, 25 Concrete, 25 Glass, 25 GoldBuild, Bulldoze
Bubbly Basin (DLC)25 Star-spotted rock, 5 Shiny pearl, 10 Seashell, 10 Sea glass fragmentsBuild, Bulldoze, Scrub

The rest of the eight slots can be filled with any Pokémon living in the area, so you rarely need to recruit anyone new just for the rebuild.

Getting the materials ready

  • Withered Wastelands: the easiest one. Lumber comes from Pokémon with the Chop specialty, and leaves and vines are everywhere.
  • Bleak Beach: bricks are the slow part. Bricks are made from Squishy clay by a Pokémon with the Burn specialty, so start collecting clay as soon as you arrive.
  • Rocky Ridges: 50 ingots in total. Unlock the furnace early and keep a Fire Pokémon smelting ore while you do other requests.
  • Sparkling Skylands: the most expensive center. Concrete, glass and Pokémetal all need processing, so stockpile them before the area reaches level 3.
  • Bubbly Basin: the five Shiny pearls are the bottleneck; everything else is found while diving.

What a rebuilt center gives you

  • PP recovery: the counter on the right restores your PP once per day in each center.
  • Trading stand: if a Pokémon with the Trade specialty lives nearby, it sometimes opens a shop at the main counter with items that change daily.
  • 3D Printer: the stand on the left copies items from your reference photos in exchange for Pokémetal.
  • Events: limited-time event Pokémon such as Feebas or Pumpkaboo only appear outside a rebuilt center.

Tip: once an area reaches high Environment Levels, the shop starts selling remodel kits such as the Wasteland and Beach Pokémon Center kits. They let you give any center the look of another area, which is perfect if you prefer one style over the rest.
