Dream Islands Guide

Visit procedurally generated resource islands daily to replenish materials without affecting your main world

Dream Islands: Your Resource Resupply Hub

Materials in Pokémon Pokopia are finite. Once you've stripped your biomes clean, you'll need another source—and tearing down your own buildings isn't exactly ideal. Dream Islands solve this: daily procedurally generated zones where you can gather resources without affecting your main world.

Dream Island overview

Unlocking Dream Islands

Two things are required: befriending Drifloon and obtaining at least one Dream Island Doll. Dolls turn up in treasure blocks, inside Poke Balls, at the PC Shop, or inside ruins such as the abandoned houses on Bleak Beach.

Where to Find Drifloon

Drifloon lives in the Withered Wasteland, along the shore behind the breakable wall to the right of the Pokémon Center. To recruit it, you must build a Riding Warm Updrafts habitat: arrange three campfires in a row and have Charmander light them. Return to Drifloon once the habitat is ready, and it will move in.

Dream Island Dolls & Destinations

There are seven Dolls in total. Each one (except Ditto and Substitute) sends you to a specific island type tied to a biome. Use the Doll that matches the resources you need. Ditto and Substitute send you to a random island instead.

Doll Island Type Key Resources
Eevee Withered Wasteland Leppa Berries, Glowing Mushrooms, Vine Rope
Pikachu Bleak Beach Sea Glass, Twine, Seashells
Clefairy Rocky Ridges Mountains Copper, Limestone, Cave Mushrooms
Arcanine Rocky Ridges Mines (Volcanic) Iron, Gold, Glowing Stone
Dragonite Sparkling Skylands Wastepaper, Pokemetal Fragments, Crystal Fragments
Ditto Random
Substitute Random

When Drifloon asks where you want to go, a Things to Find menu shows three icons per island type—but each island holds more than just those three materials. Explore thoroughly!

Dream Island Dolls and destinations

Eevee Doll

Located in a ruined house on one of the small islands northwest of Bleak Beach. From the Pokémon Center, face away from it, turn right, and cross the islands toward where Peakychu appears. The Eevee and Pikachu Dolls share the same ruined house.

Pikachu Doll

Two Pikachu Dolls exist on Bleak Beach. The first is in the same ruined house as the Eevee Doll. For the second: from the Pokémon Center, run straight toward the houses on your left. Check behind the sand blocks in the first house on the left.

Most other Dolls appear randomly in Poke Balls or treasure spots, or become available at the PC Shop after raising the Environment Level in Palette Town.

How to Use Dream Islands

  1. Empty your inventory so you have room for everything you collect.
  2. Bring food if you plan to mine—you'll need powered-up Rock Smash for ore.
  3. Place a Doll outside (it won't work indoors) and interact with it to summon Drifloon.
  4. Choose "I wanna go to a Dream Island" and let Drifloon carry you there.

Once you land, gather resources, Poke Balls, and decor freely. Each island typically has around two caves—don't skip them. Caves contain rare materials like Crystals and Stardust, which you can't obtain anywhere else. Dream Islands also offer event-exclusive items such as Cotton Spores.

Exploring a Dream Island

Daily limit: You can only visit one island type per day, but you may return to that same type as many times as you like within that day. Need to grab snacks or drop off loot? Head back home and return whenever you're ready.
