Peakychu is the strangely pale Pikachu you meet in Bleak Beach. It is one of the most important characters of the area’s story, since it guides you through bringing electricity back to the town, and with the right habitat it can become a regular resident too. Here is where it appears and how to have it living with you.

Where to find Peakychu
- Unlock Bleak Beach. Finish the first Important Request in Withered Wastelands and raise your Trainer Rank until the area opens.
- Play the Bleak Beach story. Complete the early requests there, including your first meeting with Mosslax.
- Follow Meowth. At one point Meowth says it has seen someone lying on the ground. Go to the spot and a cutscene introduces Peakychu, lying exhausted among the flowers.
The encounter is tied to the story, so Peakychu will not show up before you reach that point, no matter how much you explore.
Peakychu and the electricity quest
Once it is back on its feet, Peakychu becomes your guide for restoring power in Bleak Beach: it shows you the windmill out at sea, and you learn about generators, utility poles and the charging station in the centre of town. Finishing this chain is also what lights up Mosslax’s cave and moves the story forward.
How to recruit Peakychu with a habitat
Peakychu can also be attracted like any other Pokémon with the Full recovery habitat:
| Item | Where to get it |
|---|---|
| Bed (any) | Any bed, for example a log bed or wooden bed from the Withered Wastelands shop |
| Plain chest | Found in several areas or crafted with 1 Lumber and 1 Twine |
| First aid kit | Bleak Beach shop from Environment Level 3, or crafted with 1 Pokémetal |
The same habitat attracts Chansey, which is common. Peakychu is rare there, so you may get Chansey first. Keep the habitat up, check it every day and use a spicy offering to Mosslax to raise the chances.
What Peakychu likes
- Specialty: Illuminate.
- Ideal habitat: bright.
- Favorite things: electronics, glass objects, cute things, healing items, letters and words, and sweet flavors.
Tip: Peakychu is also mentioned on several Dream Islands, where it appears as a landmark to follow across the islands. If you see it there, head in its direction to find the island’s treasure.
