How to get Gourgeist: the correct Creepy Pumpkins layout

The three decorations, six-candy budget and stacking order needed to attract Gourgeist.

How to get Gourgeist: the correct Creepy Pumpkins layout walkthrough

You attract Gourgeist by building Creepy pumpkins. This is a separate encounter: you do not need to evolve Pumpkaboo. The three required decorations cost 6 Pumpkin Candy altogether.

How to get Gourgeist: the correct Creepy Pumpkins layout

Buy these three decorations

Collect candy by surprising residents with Camouflage, then visit Pumpkaboo's counter inside a rebuilt Pokémon Center. Buy one of each item below.

ItemPumpkin Candy
Trevenant streetlight Trevenant streetlight ×12
Pumpkin lantern Pumpkin lantern ×12
Pumpkin lantern tower Pumpkin lantern tower ×12

The lanterns must form one stack

  1. Place Pumpkin lantern on the ground.
  2. Place Pumpkin lantern tower directly on top of that lantern.
  3. Set Trevenant streetlight beside the stack so the three items form a compact arrangement.
  4. Check that the game recognizes Creepy pumpkins, then return to check for Gourgeist and speak to it when it appears.

The tower and the single lantern are two separate shop items. Buying the tower alone, or placing both lantern items next to each other, does not reproduce the required layout. The screenshot shows the complete stack beside the streetlight.

If the habitat is not working

Check the stacking before buying more decorations. Keep the streetlight close to the stack and confirm all three items are present. This encounter is available in the morning, day, evening and night, in sun, cloud or rain, so waiting specifically for midnight is unnecessary.

Keep your new friend comfortable

Despite the spooky theme, Gourgeist prefers a bright environment. Nature and flowers also match its likes. Collect the furniture before the exchange closes on November 1, 2026 at 04:59, local time. Pokémon befriended during the event remain afterward.
