How to Get Shiny Pearls in Bubbly Basin in Pokemon Pokopia

Find Grubby pearls and polish them into Shiny pearls with a Scrub specialty Pokemon in Bubbly Basin in Pokemon Pokopia for Switch 2

How to Get Shiny Pearls in Bubbly Basin

Shiny pearls are an important Expansion Pass material in Pokémon Pokopia for Switch 2. They are used in several underwater-themed projects, but you cannot simply pick them up in Bubbly Basin or buy them ready-made at the Pokémon Center.

How to get Shiny pearls in Pokémon Pokopia

The process has two parts: first gather Grubby pearls, then ask a Pokémon with the Scrub specialty to polish them. The sections below cover every source and the quickest Pokémon to recruit for the job.

Where to find Grubby pearls

Search the deeper caves of Bubbly Basin. Grubby pearls look like small, sand-coated spheres that are partly buried in the seabed, so check the floor carefully while exploring.

You can also obtain more Grubby pearls in these ways:

  • Pokémon may occasionally give you one as a random gift.
  • The Pokémon Center shop begins selling bundles after you raise the area's Environment Level far enough.
  • The aquatic Dream Island contains them in larger quantities. It becomes available through the Starmie Doll unlocked during the Expansion Pass story.

How to turn Grubby pearls into Shiny pearls

Speak to one of the five Pokémon below and show it the Grubby pearls in your inventory. Each of them has the Scrub specialty and can transform the dirty material into Shiny pearls:

  • Shellder
  • Cloyster
  • Sharpedo
  • Alomomola
  • Primarina

You may hand over up to 10 Grubby pearls at once. The Pokémon needs a little time to finish polishing the batch, so leave it working while you continue with other tasks.

The easiest Scrub Pokémon to recruit

Shellder is usually the fastest option because it has a high chance of appearing at the Basin tall grass and coral habitat. Build it with:

  • 4 Seabed tall grass
  • 1 Small coral
  • 1 Tall coral

All three decorations can be found around Bubbly Basin's central plaza. Once Shellder moves in, keep bringing it every Grubby pearl you collect; repeating this short gather-and-polish loop is the most reliable way to maintain a supply of Shiny pearls.
