Version 2.0.0 is the biggest free update Pokémon Pokopia has received so far. It arrived on August 5, 2026 alongside Bubbly Basin, but most of its changes have nothing to do with the paid content: shared storage, bulk item transfers, faster conversations with service Pokémon, more precise building, and new camera settings. You do not need the Expansion Pass to enjoy any of the improvements in this guide.

The most important changes at a glance
| Area | What changes in 2.0.0 |
|---|---|
| Storage | New Portal Pod with shared contents, plus bulk transfers between storage boxes and your Bag |
| Service Pokémon | Appraise up to 10 Lost Relics at once and chain several transactions in one conversation |
| Building | Depth control for doors and windows, underwater houses and a higher power generator limit |
| Movement | Companions follow you while using Surf, Glide, Rollout and Magnet Rise |
| Settings | Camera options against motion sickness and fewer event reminders |
Storage and inventory management
Inventory management was the most common complaint before this update, and it is where 2.0.0 makes the biggest difference.
- Portal Pods: a new kind of storage chest. Everything you put in one Portal Pod can be taken out of any other Portal Pod, even in a different area, so you no longer have to carry materials back and forth between towns. The recipe unlocks by raising the Environment Level of Palette Town.
- Safe: another new craftable item, unlocked the same way.
- Bulk transfers: you can now select several items and move them together between a storage box and your Bag.
- Smarter crafting: materials kept in a storage box next to the workbench are used first, before the game takes anything from your Bag.
- Throwing things away: items left inside objects such as the garbage bin can now disappear. They are not deleted instantly, so you still have time to take back something you threw away by mistake.

Tip: place one Portal Pod in every town where you build regularly. They all open the same inventory, so the materials you gather in one area are instantly available in the next.
Faster conversations with Pokémon
- Professor Tangrowth can now appraise Lost Relics in batches of up to 10. Choose how many you want to hand over and they are all identified in a single conversation.
- Smearguru, Vespiquen, Gimmighoul and Gholdengo can carry out several transactions in one conversation. Painting, Gather Honey and Collect no longer require talking to them again after every exchange.
- Smearguru can learn to paint patterns from the reference photos you have taken of items. After you earn the diploma it also teaches the new Dynamic Ditto print pattern.
- Pokémon that get sad when a piece of furniture is removed notice much sooner when you put it back.
- If a habitat is destroyed and you rebuild the same habitat near its original spot, its Pokémon move back in.
- Pokémon who taught you an emote now reply with that same emote.
- During construction, Pokémon that are not assigned to Build can help with the cooking.

Building and shaping your world
- Graveler transformation: you can now inhale items, open your Bag and even eat while rolling around as Graveler with Rollout. Rollout can also break some natural objects, such as large boulders.
- Ditto's water: when you release stored water, its level automatically matches the water around it. A short press of the move button keeps liquid in Ditto's mouth without removing it from the scenery.
- Depth placement: windows, doors and similar items can be pushed forward or back when placing them, which makes detailed façades much easier.
- Underwater building: Pokémon with the Build specialty can now build houses underwater, and Strength works underwater too.
- Higher limits: power generators go from 64 to 128 per town (furnaces excluded), and you can display up to 40 photos instead of 10.
- Small fixes for builders: items can sit on top of square plants, some roof items now block water, Leafage turns farm soil back into normal soil, and curved eaves are crafted in batches of 10.
- More paintable items: stylish stool, handrail, metal chain, workbench, vending machine, bike, bookcase, Pokémon Center counter, arrow sign and rope.

Exploration and moves
- Dive is the headline new move and lets you swim freely underwater.
- Your Pokémon companions keep following you while you use Surf, Glide, Rollout or Magnet Rise.
- Surf can be started from land by holding the focus button and pressing the Surf button, and both Surf and Waterfall activate more smoothly.
- The Dowsing Machine finds more treasure on Dream Islands, and in Sparkling Skylands it no longer reveals treasure in spots where breaking the terrain would make it fall.
- The Pokédex and the Habitat Dex have a new All tab, and Return Home can take you straight to the town where a Pokémon you searched for is located.
- Hide-and-sneak games can now be canceled midway.
Customization and settings
- Five new hair colors: orange, light pink, yellow-green, blue-green and brown.
- Two new emotes, available in Bleak Beach and on Dream Islands.
- New camera settings to reduce motion sickness.
- Options to move while the move wheel is open and to hide the confirmation when cancelling Magnet Rise.
- In-game event reminders appear less often, only when a specific number of days is left before the event ends.
Notable bug fixes
- Suicune and Gholdengo could not cross water.
- Pokémon sometimes fell into the sea or off cliffs when leaving a habitat, or failed to return even with honey.
- Returning from a Dream Island could send you to Palette Town or get stuck on the loading screen.
- Players who were not the administrator could place relocation kits on Cloud Islands.
Which version should you have?
Version 2.0.1, released in September 2026, only fixes bugs (such as Ho-Oh and Lugia repeatedly reappearing, or the Pokédex search failing to find some Pokémon), so all the improvements above still come from 2.0.0. Check the version number on the title screen and update before events like Pumpkaboo's Candy Collection, which require 2.0.1.
