How to Get Manaphy: Build the Ocean Temple in Bubbly Basin walkthrough

Manaphy is the Mythical Pokémon at the heart of the Bubbly Basin expansion. Everyone meets it in the free 2.0.0 update, where it teaches Ditto to Dive, but registering it in the Pokédex and having it live in your world requires the Expansion Pass and the biggest project in Bubbly Basin: the Ocean Temple. This guide walks you through the whole Important Request.

How the request starts

  1. Raise Bubbly Basin to Environment Level 3.
  2. Popplio comes to you with an idea and leads you to a large plot covered in sand and debris. This starts the Important Request Build the Beautiful Building.
  3. Clear the whole plot. Among the sand you will find a Poké Ball with the Ocean door recipe.

Materials for the Ocean Temple

The Shiny pearls are the slowest part: collect grubby pearls and have a Pokémon with the Scrub specialty polish them.

The six Pokémon Popplio asks for

Popplio also wants six specific Pokémon on the team, and only describes them with riddles:

The one who is good with their clawsCorphishUsually already found while exploring

The floaty pink oneFrillishNear a cave entrance to the north: find the Starmie Doll with it using the Dowsing Machine

Finishing the temple

Once the materials are in and the six helpers have joined, the construction goes ahead. When the Ocean Temple is finished, step inside: Manaphy is waiting, thanks you for your help back in Bleak Beach and decides to stay. It is registered in the Bubbly Basin Pokédex and becomes a resident.

  • Specialties: Trade and Hype.
  • Home: it has no habitat of its own, so you can invite it to any house and even move it to another area.
  • Likes: water, sea, cute and healing things, noisy things and bitter flavors, with a cool environment.

Tip: recruiting Frillish for the temple also gives you the Starmie Doll, which opens the underwater Dream Island where Phione can appear. Do both in the same trip.
