The Submarine kit builds a Sharpedo-shaped submarine on the seabed of Bubbly Basin. It is more than decoration: it works as an underwater home for two Pokémon, and Corphish asks for one shortly after moving in. You can get the kit for free if you know where to look, or buy it once the area levels up.

Option 1: the free kit
- Bubbly Basin is a sunken version of Cerulean City. Dive to the ruined Cerulean Gym, the water-type gym building to the east of the main town.
- Look for an orange rock wall and break it with Rock Smash.
- Head down into the lower floor of the gym: the Submarine kit is waiting there.
Option 2: buy it
When Bubbly Basin reaches Environment Level 2, the PC shop starts selling the Submarine kit for about 300 Life Coins. Buying a second one is the easiest way to give more Pokémon an underwater home.
How to build it
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Materials | 10 Iron ore and 5 Sea glass fragments |
| Builders | 4 Pokémon, including at least one with the Build specialty |
| Time | About 1 hour |
| Residents | Up to 2 Pokémon can live inside |
Corphish is a natural choice as builder. Remember that iron ore deposits need a powered-up Rock Smash (eat a hamburger steak first), or bring ore from the Dream Islands.
Corphish’s request
- To attract Corphish, build Sandy basin tall grass: one Sandpile and four Seabed tall grass.
- Once it moves in, Corphish asks for the submarine. Build it nearby and assign it as its home to complete the request and boost its Comfort.
And the real Sharpedo?
The submarine only looks like Sharpedo. The Pokémon itself appears at the Chimney rocks dig site habitat (chimney rocks, a wheelbarrow, excavation tools and a traffic cone), which it shares with Croconaw. Sharpedo also has the Scrub specialty, so it can polish grubby pearls into Shiny pearls.
Tip: since update 2.0.0, Build Pokémon can build houses underwater and Strength works underwater too. Place the submarine before decorating the area around it, because moving a finished building later costs a relocation kit.
